The PCP condemns very strongly the terrorist action unleashed by the Bharatiya Janata Party in the State of Tripura against the Communist Party of India (Marxist), Communist Party of India, the Left Front and other political forces and their militants and activists, following the recent elections that were held in this Indian state, where they have historically enjoyed great popular support. Expressing its solidarity with the victims and urging that they be assured urgent support, the PCP demands an immediate end to such violence – physical attacks, destruction of homes and property, extortion of money and denial of the most elementary means of subsistence – and the criminal accountability of the direct and indirect perpetrators of such brutal acts.
The PCP expresses its solidarity with the Communist Party of India (Marxist), the Communist Party of India and all the forces that make up the Left Front, as well as its militants, and their struggle in defence of freedoms, rights, democracy in India.
